Sulawesi Utara terkenal dengan kesuburan tanahnya dan berbagai macam tanaman hias dan tumbuhan komoditi masyarakat semacam sayuran dan buahan juga berbagai macam binatang yang hidup dipelihara dalam, di tutupi oleh hijaunya daun kelapa dan harumnya daun cengkih. Sulawesi utara terkenal dengan kayanya produksi kopra di samping cengkih dan pala adalah bagian kekayaan alamnya.
Binatang yang hidup di sulawesi utara adalah binatang yang langka diantaranya ; burung moleo babi hutan / babi rusa, kus–kus, anoa, ada juga monyet terkecil di dunia yang di sebut dengan tangkasi ( tarsius spectrum ) si mata lebar .
Untuk melindungi binatang ini dari kepunahan, maka telah diadakan perlindungan khusus bagi hewan–hewan ini. Dari kawasan laut kita menuju ke keindahan taman laut bunaken, taman laut bunaken adalah yang terindah dengan terumbu karangnya serta berbagai macam ragam spesies ikan. Bunaken adalah surga bagi kaum pencinta olah raga bawah laut atau menyelam.
